Guardian Storage, which operates 16 storage facilities in Colorado and Pennsylvania, has been named 2014 Independent Business of the Year in Superior, CO.
The award recognizes a business with 25 employees or less that’s active in Superior. The Superior Chamber of Commerce and The Daily Camera, a newspaper in Boulder, praised Guardian Storage for its investment in the community and for its top-notch customer service.
Guardian Storage opened its Superior facility in February 2013. Since then, the facility has hosted numerous community activities, such as car washes, pet adoption days, document-shredding events and electronics-recycling events. The facility also has sponsored community events, such as the Superior Chili Fest and the local Fourth of July festival.
“Since we first broke ground on our Superior facility, we have been embraced with open arms by the local business community and residents,” Kevin Cohen, director of business development at Guardian Storage, said in a news release. “Superior is a vibrant and thriving town, and it has been a pleasure to build relationships not just with our customers, but with the entire community.”
Christine Labozan, retail advertising director at The Daily Camera, applauded Guardian Storage for its commitment to customer service.
“Every manager goes through an internal professional development program to ensure their employees give their customers all of the attention, service and respect they deserve to navigate through all of life’s transitions,” Labozan said. “This business believes that giving away the little things such as coffee, water, Wi-Fi, their moving truck and their conference room makes a big difference.”
The Superior facility has about 700 units and 80,000 rentable square feet. In all, Pittsburgh-based Guardian Storage operates about 1 million square feet of storage in more than 10,000 units.
