When criminals shop around for the best deals in self-storage, they know better than to choose All Locked Up Storage in Castaic, CA. Even though All Locked Up offers low prices, excellent security and great customer service, lawbreakers still avoid this facility because they know Kevin “K-Nine” Gilger runs the show there.
Our second canine manager of the month, “K-Nine” splits his time between managing All Locked Up Storage and acting as a “Dog the Bounty Hunter” impersonator.
With several appearances on TMZ, a part on Comedy Central’s “Workaholics,” a TV spot for Scion and a role alongside Mickey Rooney in 2011’s “Bamboo Shark,” Gilger has built up quite a résumé.
It all began when Gilger bleached his natural red hair to a shade of blond for a bodybuilding competition–a common practice among competitive bodybuilders, as it makes their torsos look bigger. The resemblance to Dog was uncanny, and adoring fans started coming in droves.
Gilger said: “I’ve been doing it for about five years now. To make a long story short, I got tired of people coming up to me thinking I was [Dog].”
“K-Nine” is a friend of doppelganger Duane “Dog” Chapman, and he said “Dog” initially was taken aback by the resemblance. “The first time Duane met me, he wanted to swab me for my DNA.”
In addition to fueling a successful acting career, Gilger’s “Dog” impersonation has helped him market his self-storage business. All Locked Up has an incredible referral business; because of this, Gilger “has eradicated almost all advertising.”
After all, why spend money on advertising when you have a personality like “K-Nine” managing the facility?
According to his website, dogtheimpersonator.com, you can “book ‘K-Nine’ as ‘Dog’ for: staged arrests, meet n’ greets, corporate events, birthdays, photos, trade shows, fairs, casino events, fund raisers, proposals/weddings, parties, charity events, conventions, ad campaigns, and lots more.”
From all the folks at The Storage Facilitator, I’d like to congratulate “K-Nine” on his manager of the month honor; we’d be hard-pressed to find a self-storage manager with a bigger persona.
